data we collect

kittygotchi does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. all data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API and never leaves your browser.

what gets stored locally

• your cat's happiness level
• the last time you fed your cat
• whether the cat is shown or hidden
• whether you have dismissed the support banner

this data exists only on your device and is never sent to any server.

permissions we use

• storage — to save your cat's state locally on your device
• tabs — to trigger the feeding animation on the active tab when you click "feed a fish"
• idle — to detect inactivity so your cat can fall asleep
• host permissions — to display the cat companion on any webpage you visit

third party services

the extension contains a link to ko-fi.com for voluntary donations. visiting ko-fi is subject to their own privacy policy. no data is shared with ko-fi automatically.
